An extended music line-up has been released for the forthcoming Border Green Festival that will take place over the weekend of Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July.

Musicians from as far away as the USA will play alongside the cream of Borders talent at the Five Arches Playing Fields, Tweedmouth, Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Touring acts such as Trevor Moss & Hannah Lou, recent signings to the Heavenly Records roster (home to The Magic Numbers & Edwyn Collins amongst others) will bring an organic feel to the music at the festival.

Held this year on 2nd and 3rd July at the Five Arches Playing Field in Tweedmouth, Berwick-upon-Tweed. The event organisers Berwick Community Trust, Travelled Music and Bar4Hire have extended this years programme to 2 days, featuring a music festival on Saturday 2nd July and the seventh annual Border Green Festival on Sunday 3rd July.

Plans are well under way to increase the numbers of exhibitors and the extra day will ensure the popular music acts at the festival have even further exposure. The music stage will belong to local musical talent including; Roy's Iron DNA, Espionage of the Loc, The Dull Fudds, Warehouse Announcement, Spokes and Acrylic Indie with many more to be announced, who will entertain the expected 2,000 visitors.

Eurovision trip for Berwick hairdresser

Julia Morrison of Aruba Hair in Berwick has sent in a follow-up to her story about her entry in the 'Eurovision Hairdresser' competition.

Julia won the UK heat of the competition, winning an all-expenses paid weekend for two to the Eurovision song contest in Dusseldorf, Germany, courtesy of Schwartzkopf.

She says: "I had a fantastic time with my husband Rodney and had brilliant seats for the show. We stayed in a 5 star Marriott hotel which was lovely.

"Thanks everyone who voted for me."

The overall winner in the hairdresser competition was the Ukraine entry.

Local hairdresser, Julia Morrison of Aruba Hair in Spittal has entered the 'Eurovision Hairdresser' competition, with hopes of winning the title of 'Eurovision Hairdresser' for the UK.

The competition, which is presented by Schwarzkopf Professional, entails creating a 'look of music'. Julia says, "My look was inspired by the colours you would find on a graphic equaliser, I wanted to create a look that was creative and to do with music, yet still modern and wearable.

"This look captures that and I am very happy with the results."

The winner from each country gets to go to the Eurovision song contest on May 14th in Dusseldorf Germany and will be judged by a panel of expert hairdressers to be crowned the 'Eurovision Hairdresser'.
