£850,000 to be invested in Berwick's Swan Centre
A leisure centre in Northumberland is under new management in a move that will see £850,000 invested in improving its facilities
Berwick's Swan Centre has been officially handed over by the county council under a 10-year contract with Tees Active, which also runs a number of leisure facilities and services in the Stockton area.
Facilities at the leisure centre include a swimming pool, learner pool, fitness suite, sports hall, squash courts, indoor bowls hall, cafe and crèche and soft-play area.
The planned improvements include a new fitness studio with state-of-the-art equipment, specialist spinning studio, new indoor children's play area and party rooms, and upgraded changing rooms, reception, cafe and dance studio.
Tees Active was selected as the preferred manager of the centre last year.
