Berwick granary funding secured
Funding of £5m has been put together to refurbish an old granary in Berwick which has been branded the town's biggest eyesore.
Development agency One North East has provided the outstanding £600,000 and Berwick Preservation Trust says work on the Dewar's Lane Granary, near the town centre, will start early in the new year.
The 18th Century granary, empty almost 30 years, is to become a youth hostel and community complex.
