Berwick Rangers boss Alan McGonigal watched Darren Gribben and Fraser McLaren 'squabble' over who was going to take a penalty as referee Euan Norris pointed to the spot.
Gribben won and went on to covert the penalty before giving a repeat performance in the second half to earn Rangers a point after two defeats.
McGonigal said: "I have no problem with them arguing over who is taking the penalties so long as they score.
A man who has campaigned for Berwick to be in Scotland is to make his views known to Gordon Brown in a TV musical.
Ex-policeman Michael Ross, 54, is to appear in Channel Four's A1: The Road Musical singing an angry punk piece which tells the Prime Minister that the town should no longer be part of England.
Mr Ross, of Osborne Road, Tweedmouth, will be seen on the show singing 'Your border's out of order, Mr Brown. Go tell the slimy gits in Whitehall this is a Scottish town.'
BERWICK Rangers assistant manager Martin Mooney admitted the Borderers had an off day at Coatbridge as Albion Rovers registered their first points of the campaign to move off the bottom of the table.
"Quite simply we just did not play well," said Mooney. "We hardly created any real chances and there was certainly no spell over the whole game when you could say we actually looked we might be getting back into it."
Students at Berwick High School achieved an 86% pass rate of five A* to Cs in this year's GCSE results.
55% got five A* to Cs including English and maths, 20% up on last year, while the school added around 100 points to its average point score per student from last year.
Berwick expects to at least retain its place in the top 5% nationally for value added performance - a benchmark of how students have improved since taking their SATs at age 11.
BERWICK Rangers boss Alan McGonigal knew exactly where the trouble lay after he saw his side slip to their first defeat in three league outings in the Scottish Third Division.
"Quite simply our defending was poor and we paid the penalty," admitted the Borderers' manager.
"It is obvious we need to tighten up at the back and I am still looking to bring in an experienced player to do the business in that department. We can not afford to give away soft goals."
Early indications at Berwick High School suggested the 62 students had achieved a 92% pass rate at grades A to E.
Headteacher Steve Quinlan said: "Generally speaking we celebrate the success of everybody really. There is this obsession in the media that A-Levels have got easier, but it does not feel like that here.
"I am just pleased with the success all our students have achieved."
POST office bosses have been accused of deeply flawed decision making over proposed closures.
The comments are made in Berwick Borough Council's official response to Post Office Ltd's proposals to close 81 branches in the region, on which six weeks' consultation ended yesterday.
In Berwick borough, eight branches - at Norham, Scremerston, North Sunderland, Ancroft, Bamburgh, Doddington, Lowick and Milfield - face the axe.
VOLUNTEERS cleared a record 1.2 tonnes of rubbish off the region's beaches last year, The Journal can reveal.
And marine conservationists last night spoke of their fears that a rise in the amount of plastic being dumped on the shoreline was posing a major risk to wildlife.
A survey of 19 beaches in Northumberland and Berwickshire revealed 57% of all rubbish was environment-destroying plastic.

BATTLING Berwick fought back to earn a draw at Montrose and manager Alan McGonigal admitted: "We might just have sneaked all three points particularly on our second half display but I am happy to settle for one."
He praised his young side's character adding: "We were down to the bare bones because of injuries but the lads kept their heads up and deservedly got a result. We created three good chances but it was our second half which was impressive."
BERWICK Rangers lost their CIS Cup first round tie at Somerset Park but they will take heart from a battling performance against the Honest Men.
Rangers failed to beat their opponents in four attempts last season but a bright start this time saw them go ahead inside 12 minutes.
David Greenhill seized his chance after being given a start for the first time this season.
